Terms & Conditions

1. What StoryScan Does

StoryScan is an AI-powered manuscript diagnostic tool for children's book authors. When you upload a manuscript, our system analyses it across multiple categories and provides structured feedback including scores, strengths, areas for improvement, and development recommendations.

2. Your Manuscript Stays Private

All manuscripts uploaded to StoryScan are kept strictly private. Your work is used solely for the purpose of generating your analysis report. We do not publish, share, or distribute your manuscript to any third party. Your manuscript is stored securely and is only accessible for the purpose of delivering your report and any future revisions you request.

3. Original Work Declaration

By submitting a manuscript to StoryScan, you confirm that the work is your own original creation and that you have the right to submit it for analysis. You must not upload work that belongs to someone else or that you do not have permission to use. StoryScan accepts no responsibility for disputes relating to the ownership of submitted manuscripts.

4. Your Contact Data

We collect your email address when you submit a manuscript. This is used to deliver your report and communicate with you about your analysis. We protect all customer contact data using industry-standard security measures. We may share your contact information with trusted third-party partners who help us deliver our services, but we will never sell your personal data.

5. Payments and Refunds

Paid analysis tiers are charged as one-time payments processed securely through Stripe. Prices are displayed in US Dollars. Because our reports are generated instantly using AI, we are generally unable to offer refunds once a report has been delivered. If you experience a technical issue that prevents delivery of your report, please contact us and we will resolve it.

6. AI-Generated Feedback

StoryScan uses artificial intelligence to analyse manuscripts. While our system is built on professional children's publishing standards, the feedback provided is generated by AI and should be treated as guidance, not as a professional editorial assessment. We recommend using StoryScan feedback alongside other professional resources when making publishing decisions.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree to use StoryScan for its intended purpose: analysing children's book manuscripts. You must not use the service to upload harmful, illegal, or inappropriate content. We reserve the right to remove content and restrict access to accounts that violate these terms.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify users via email. Continued use of StoryScan after changes are made constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

9. Contact

If you have questions about these terms, please contact us at [email protected].
